Tanz Die Toleranz - Vienna

During the European Solidarity Corps I supported the Tanz Die Toleraz team by taking care of their graphics and social media.

Dance connects: across social, cultural and linguistic barriers. The projects of Tanz die Toleranz enable new encounters. The rehearsal spaces open up possibilities for communication and togetherness. People who would otherwise "live past each other" find points of contact in dance and encounters arise. The opening of new horizons causes participants to change their perception of their surroundings and fellow human beings.

This project takes place at Kulturhaus Brotfabrik and Brunnenpassage in Vienna
KULTURHAUS BROTFABRIK
In the Kulturhaus Brotfabrik, art and culture are created by everyone for everyone. Nestled between the studios and galleries of the Brotfabrik, the Kulturhaus acts as a bridge between them and the residents of the surrounding neighbourhood, which is characterised by municipal buildings and the diversity of the population, but at the same time has few open places of encounter. The Kulturhaus engages with the district through artistic projects and offers the neighbourhood opportunities to come into contact with each other and to create something new.  Due to the Corona, no events can be held at the moment. However, existing groups continue to rehearse in the virtual space.
Many of the events and workshops in the Kulturhaus are free of charge so as not to exclude anyone due to lack of financial means. The events listed in the calendar of events are basically free of charge. For many groups, such as the Superar Orchestra, entry is only possible at the beginning of the season, which is why not all workshop and rehearsal dates taking place in the house are listed here on the website.
Without the commitment of many volunteers, the house would not function as it does. In the Learning Café, volunteers support children and young people in their learning, in Community Cooking they are indispensable in the implementation of neighbourhood cooking rounds and with the Repair Café, volunteers make a statement against the throwaway culture. New volunteers are always welcome!

BRUNNENPASSAGE
The Brunnenpassage has been a laboratory of transcultural art since 2007. More than 400 events take place in the former market hall at Vienna's Brunnenmarkt every year. The transdisciplinary programme ranges from theatre and dance to music formats, exhibitions and film. The productions of the Brunnenpassage take society in all its diversity as the starting point for artistic creation. The art productions are co-created between professional artists and people from civil society, they promote encounters at eye level.
The commitment to diversity at all levels of production is fundamental. The artistic focus is on transcultural, transdisciplinary, multilingual, multi-perspective and intergenerational formats and productions. Artistic quality and socio-political goals are combined to create new collective spaces for a heterogeneous audience and to enable new aesthetic experiences. The Brunnenpassage is conceptually concerned with the question of how artistic production can establish practices that can be of interest to as broad a section of the population as possible.
The Brunnenpassage is a learning space in which these insights are constantly incorporated into the work, with the aim of sharing the experiences gained and making them available to other actors. Multi-year cooperations with established cultural institutions in the city centre are part of the core concept.
